Carrier Services App Using Battery. This app was up on the google play store, but it won’t actually do anything until google updates it. According to the app description, the app “helps carriers provide mobile services using the latest networking capabilities,,” including support for the android messages app.
Failing that working you could try settings > applications > application manager > google play service tap more and uninstall updates as suggested by @dsc05 and reboot your phone. Locate and tap the app you want to add back to the list. More importantly, carrier services “includes support for enhanced features in the android messages app.” ah, ha!
Carrier services drains my battery, even while i have the cell on battery saver along with airplane mode while at work (no reception inside).
Basically my device uptime = google play services uptime. In the morning it starts at 100%. Same with my pixel 3. So if your phone used 50% of the total battery capacity (the top bar display says 50%) that means that no cell coverage used 60% of 50%, which is (0.6 x 0.5) 30% of the total battery usage for the period.
